At the 2nd Special Lecture and Workshop of the 2026 academic year, held by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health at Wonkwang Digital University, EHS Friends CEO Taejin Jeong lectured on the latest trends in AI-based chemical management.
The lecture was held both in person at the Daejeon Campus and online via video conference, so students studying remotely could also take part in real time.
Starting from how AI has developed and how to use it as a work tool, the lecture covered how to apply AI to chemical management work.
Topics Covered
- An overview of AI
- AI: past, present and future
- Using NotebookLM
- Chemical management with AI

Latest Trends in AI-Based Chemical Management (Korean)

The presentation reviews how Korea's 2026 Labor Inspection Plan strengthens the risk assessment system (tougher administrative and criminal enforcement, mandatory worker participation and right-to-know guarantees, and systematic management), and diagnoses the practical limits of chemical management, such as endless paperwork and “shadow inventories.” It then sets out four practical strategies — controlling chemicals as they come into the workplace, an e-tool for worker participation on site, easy and accurate risk assessment, and real-time updates — and presents the case of an AI chemical management solution (PicChem, a product of PicChem Inc.) that builds a chemical inventory from a single smartphone photo and communicates with the site via QR codes. Finally, it covers how to use AI tools such as NotebookLM and how to prepare for the age of AGI.
