At the 3M Korea Power Plant Seminar, EHS Friends CEO Taejin Jeong spoke to safety and health managers from power plants in Korea about using AI to give the time spent on paperwork back to the field.

Asking where safety and health managers' time goes, CEO Taejin Jeong proposed two solutions: DX (digital transformation), which turns paper records into data, and AX (AI transformation), in which AI summarizes and classifies the accumulated data to support decision-making.

He first reviewed Korea's Comprehensive Labor Safety Measures and the amended Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act), which took effect on June 1, 2026. He explained that under the amended Act, worker participation in risk assessment, sharing of results, and record keeping have become legal obligations, and stressed that joint risk assessment by principal contractors and subcontractors and evidence of participation matter all the more in industries with a large share of business partners, such as power generation.

In the middle of the talk, he demonstrated NotebookLM and Claude using real work materials. He introduced NotebookLM as a tool that answers from within uploaded laws, regulations and MSDSs with sources cited, and Claude as a tool that analyzes raw survey data and turns it into finished tables, charts and reports, while sharing the principle “AI drafts; people judge and sign.”

Finally, through four field applications — risk assessment, worker participation surveys, AnTok and PicChem — he showed how daily records can be kept as evidence of worker participation and implementation. AnTok, developed and operated by EHS Friends, is a solution that automatically produces meeting minutes when a toolbox meeting (TBM) is recorded. PicChem is an AI chemical management service from PicChem Inc., and EHS Friends participated in its development.
